Without a doubt one of the most fabulous and fearful toddlers in the game right now is North West, an eccentrically-dressed sixteen-month-old who is often photographed on the chic streets of Paris looking terrified in the presence of her parents.
Recently, North's mother Kim Kardashian-West sat down for an interview with British content provider ITN, where she was asked if she would ever allow North to design garments for the Kardashian Kollection, a prestigious fashion line of sequinned black tank tops reading "Kardashian Kollection," sold exclusively at Sears.
Resplendent as always in her taupe interview chair, her face like a television that was not turned on, Kim remained noncommittal—even dubious—at the prospect of handing over the reins to her daughter who, if we are being honest and not blinded by maternal affection (a hereditary condition typically recessive in the Kardashian genes), has yet to demonstrate an aptitude for dressing that rivals or even approaches that of her 34-year-old mother, Kim Kardashian-West.
"I would! If she has good style. She'd have to prove herself. She'd have to show me that she wants to work."
Earlier in the interview, when asked how she prefers to dress her child, Kim had replied that she loves when North wears greens and red and blush and different colors of blue and creams:
"I love North to look—she's not that girly. I don't really like pinks and, you know, your typical girly colors. I love when she wears, like, greens and red and blush and, you know, just different colors of blue and creams. I like really neutral...palette for her."
"I love that it's not automatic," said the interviewer, of Kim's reserved response to the topic of North's future employment. "She's got to earn it."
"Nope," said Kim, smiling and shaking her head. "She's got to..." she began, but never finished; the interviewer had moved onto another topic ("You're renowned for always looking amazing!").
She has got to.
